To work toward the elimination
of poverty or its causes; to help people and families achieve
self-sufficiency; to provide safe, affordable housing for mental health
clients, low-income families, elderly, and handicapped; and to meet the
needs of the community.
To coordinate efforts of local
government units, especially County Commissioners, the County Board of
Education, Health Departments, Welfare Departments, and private
agencies, in programs devised under,
or which shall be devised
under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964:
To study, plan, encourage,
contract for, and administer programs aimed at increasing opportunities
for the victims of poverty; to receive, administer, and disburse funds
from whatever source received for those purposes; to employ and make
available professional staff services for such purposes.
Either directly or indirectly,
and either alone or in conjunction or cooperation with other persons,
institutions and organizations or acts and things, and to engage in any
and all lawful activities which may be necessary or appropriate in
connection with one or more of such purposes;
In general, to do all things
and to exercise all rights and powers permitted to non-profit charitable
corporations organized under the laws of the State of Ohio to foster or
attain one or more of such purposes.
