Text Box: HEAP EMERGENCY WINTER CRISIS PROGRAM

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Winter Crisis Program begins November 1st and ends March 31st.  This is a one time heating assistance initiative that helps low-income Ohioans with their heating bills.  To qualify, your circumstances must be considered an emergency. 

Households must have a 10 day supply or less of bulk fuel OR have a ten day shut off notice from a metered utility company.  Households are eligible to receive E-HEAP funds to restore or continue their utility services.

COME PREPARED!!!!  Applicants will be required to have proof of income for the past 13 weeks or 12 months.

Size of Household            13 weeks            12 months

            2                                $6,124.95            $24,500.00

            3                                $7,700.00            $30,800.00

            4                                $9,274.98            $37,100.00

            5                                $10,850.06          $43,400.00

            6                                $12,425.01          $49,700.00

            7                                $13,999.96          $56,000.00

            8                                $15,575.04         $62,300.00

For households with more than eight members, add $6,300 per member for twelve months. The period to be used in determining annual income must not be more than twelve months, or less than the ninety day period preceding the request for assistance by the household.

Adams County residents may apply for the Winter Crisis Program on the Appalachian HOPE Van.

 

 

 

Summer Cooling Program  

Summer Crisis Program for the elderly or clients with a physician documentation stating that an air conditioner will benefit the health of a household member will be offered.  This program runs from June 1, 2007 to August 31, 2007.

COME PREPARED!!!!  Applicants will be required to have proof of income for the past 13 weeks or 12 months, electric bill, and information on primary source of heat.  Persons applying for assistance on electric bill  must be 60 years old or older.
