| The following are the
benefits and eligibility guidelines for the Emergency HEAP Program that
starts November 1, 2011. This is a one time heating
assistance initiative that helps low-income Ohioans with their heating
bills. To qualify, your circumstances must be considered an
emergency.
Households must have a 10 day supply or
less of bulk fuel OR have a ten day shut off notice from a metered
utility company. Households are eligible to receive E-HEAP funds to
restore or continue their utility services.

Applicants will be required to have proof of
income for the past 13 weeks or 12 months.
If a customer has a shut off and wants to get back on PIPP Plus, they
must be current with everything. If a customer is behind on PIPP,
they must pay an additional $50. This cannot be paid out of
E-HEAP.

Customers can be served as walk-ins
7:30 and 10:00 each day, Monday through Friday. The first 25
signed in individuals will be worked in among the scheduled appointments
as time permits.

For households with more
than eight members, add $7,640 per member for twelve months or $1,910 to
the quarterly income for each additional household member. The period
to be used in determining annual income must not be more than twelve
months, or less than the ninety day period preceding the request for
assistance by the household.
Adams County residents may
apply for the Winter Crisis Program on the Appalachian HOPE Van.

information on primary source of heat. Persons applying for assistance
on electric bill must be 60 years old or older.
