| What is WIC? WIC is a nutrition education
program. This program provides nutritious foods which
promote good health for pregnant women, women who just had a
baby, breastfeeding moms, infants, and children up to age
five. Who is eligible and How do I qualify? Women
who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a baby less than
six months old, and infants and children up to five years of
age. You must live in Ohio, meet the WIC income
guidelines, meet certain nutritional or health risks.
WIC will provide you with nutritional education and
support, breastfeeding education and support, referral for
health care, immunization screening and referral, and
supplemental foods like: Milk, cereal, juice, eggs, peanut
butter or beans, infant formula, and tuna fish and carrots
(if you are breastfeeding).
To apply call your local clinic to schedule an
appointment to meet with a WIC staff member.
What to bring to your first visit: Proof of income, Proof
of address, Proof of identity for you and any applicants,
All family members applying for WIC services, If pregnant, a
doctor's statement showing due date, Children's shot
records.
